Get Targeted Traffic and Rank Better
Read this article to find out how to get more targeted traffic to your website who are people that will be interested in your services and products. Do what is written here and you'll see results soon.
When people go on the Web, they're usually searching for something. That's what is so great about the Internet - there is so much out there and you can find the answer to just about anything by firing up your web browser and doing an online search. So what you need to do is get people to your website and to make that happen, your website needs to rank well in the search engine results.
Do Website Search Engine Optimization
Tuning your website so that it shows up well in search rankings is called SEO (Search Engine Optimization). For the purposes of this article, we're going to assume that you've done this work - either done yourself or by someone who specializes in SEO, like a website design firm, who can also give you a nice design. This work includes optimizing page titles with the right keywords, placing the right amount of keywords in your copy, creating good meta tags, having search engine friendly URLs and so forth. Your domain name should be old enough and if it contains a keyword, that is good, too.
When doing SEO, the goal is to rank better. Ranking better in search engine results is like an election. The more votes you get, the better you do. When other websites link to your website, that is like a vote! When you get more votes than your competition, your site moves above theirs. You want to make sure you are using links that contain keywords - versus links that say "click here" which is the wrong way to make links. Getting links from websites that are related to your website is best, but really, a link is a link and all links help you.
Get Incoming Links to Your Website
There are a number of ways to get links. If people like your company website, they may link to it. Honestly, these links are about the best " so make sure you're asking people to link to your site. You can even give them the HTML code to use, which works really well because then you can specify a keyword (your main keyword) as the linked text. You should also ask people you do business with or friends to link to your website. You can also find other websites out there that are related to yours and email the owners, asking for a link. This is called a link exchange and they're worth doing.
One secret to getting inbound links is with article marketing. What you're reading right now is me doing article marketing. You take some time and write a useful article that is original and full of good information. It should answer a question that people may have and be useful to them. That's why you need to take some time doing a little bit of research. That article is then submitted to article directories and you get to include 2 inbound links back to your website down in the resource box at the end of the article.
The thing about article marketing is that your articles need to be totally unique. You can't just paste the same article on multiple websites - that doesn't help you much at all. To do that you might think that re-writing and submitting the article over and over would take a lot of work and you would be right. It would be. Who has time for that? There is a tool that makes it much easier, the Unique Article Wizard.
What the Unique Article Wizard does is automatically submit your article to many article directories (most rank pretty well and Google knows about them) and also creates original and unique versions of each article for you. I've used it many times and I've seen traffic and Google's PageRank go up on those sites - and that's the idea, right?
Writing an article using the Unique Article Wizard does take some time. It's true. But in comparison to how much time it would have taken you to rewrite your article, it's really no time at all. If you have writer's block, then don't worry. You can hire people on sites like Elance.com to do the writing for you for a good price. When I sit down to do some writing, I try to remember AIDA, which means:
* Attention
* Interest
* Desire
* Action
That is what your articles should do. They should grab people's attention with an interesting headline, then get their interest within the first few lines, then create desire and then present call to action. What also works well are "how to" articles because, again, that's what people are doing on the Internet - they're searching for how to do things a lot of the time.
You'll then go through the wizard that's available, where you tweak each paragraph a little and then it submits your article for you. I usually have it submit about 60 a day and aim for it to be submitted to 700 or more sites. Not bad, right?
Then usually within a week or two, you will start to see more traffic coming to your website. Google will also see more sites that link to your website and that gets you higher rankings. One goal may be to write and submit 1 article per week and you would see great results by just doing that. Many people are doing that very thing, so you know it's successful. Be sure to take your time doing it and include really good information in your writing. That's important. You will look like an expert in your field and people will come to your website for more information.
