I used to be a cheater. It may hurt my masculinity to admit everything I am about to say, but I think I owe it to women all around the world to say what I am about to say. Maybe it can help them avoid all of the hurt and pain that I caused others. The things that I am about to tell you may not apply to every cheater in the world, but they're the same things that I did.
What always surprised me was how surprised women could get that I cheated in the first place. For a lot of years, I would be with someone and as it winded down move onto the next. Although, they knew that the relationship had started with cheating they always thought that it would be different for them. Ladies, here's the truth - IT WON'T.
Change can come but just like quitting any behavior, it takes a desire to quit. This goes for smoking, drug or gambling addiction or cheating. The belief that the cheater isn’t going to cheat comes from a great line that the cheater lays out. Cheaters have considerable experience in laying out good lines to their partners.
My partner was never made a part of my social group. It was far too easy to have one of them slip about the gorgeous redhead I was with last week after a couple of drinks at the local club. If friends or family aren’t introduced to you after you’ve been together for awhile it may well be that you aren’t alone in having him provide affection.
You need to wonder about the depth of your relationship too. I always played the sensitive guy who truly understood all of the pain and heartbreak you had. I truly understood you as a person. At least, that's what I wanted you to think. All that it really did was give the relationship false depth. If your nights of deep talking are followed by sex... or are sex followed by deep talking... you're probably getting played like a fiddle. The man is just after the sex. If this is not something you are okay with, you need to break up before you get even more hurt.
Dating sites. I have two points to make about these. First, if you are in a relationship and find that your man has browsed these sites he is not looking for a "friend." These are great ways to meet women outside of your social circle, which limits the chance of getting busted. And secondly, if you meet a man from a date site chances are he isn't really interested in your political views. There is a reason why your ad gets more hits when you have a picture up, and often a damn good reason he hasn't posted his.
Even though I was with a few good women during my time, I still ended up cheating on them. That made me feel really guilty. I would do special things for her to make up for the cheating, from roses to massages. It really wasn't happening to treat her right, though. I just wanted to get rid of the guilty feeling I had.
There are some of the things that I did when I cheated. I sincerely hope that you can use them. This is part of my atonement for hurting the women in my life. However I have much more to do. One thing that you should remember is that you are special and you deserve and should be provided better treatment than what I have provided to others.
