Do Teenagers Really “Need” Mobile Phones?

The cell phone manufacturers are in the business of creating demand for their phones and one way they do that is to keep coming out with newer and fancier models. It seems like every time you buy a new phone, you find that a newer model is soon to be released. One thing people might do is to give their used phones to their kids whenever they buy a new one. This way they are able to get more use out of each phone and get more for their money.

Most teenagers would be ecstatic to get any kind of cell phone and not care whether it is used or new. All they need is something that works so they can call and text their friends. Most cell phones have a lot of the same features and buying the newest models all the time is really just playing into the hands of the manufacturers. You may get a new design and something that is a little slicker than your old model but in essence it is probably much the same phone.

New cell phones can be expensive and many people dont want to pay that much for something they dont use all that much. Times are tight now and people are looking for ways to save money. This means they are willing to buy a used phone that someone else has no need for. So, where can you go to get a cheap phone or a used phone?

Anyone wanting to buy a used cell phone should make the Internet his or her first stop. Any phone can be found online and most of the time you can find them used as well. Two of the best places to find used and cheap phones online are Craigslist and Ebay. Those are the two places most people go to list their used phones and to recoup some dollars for their older and unwanted models.

If you don't care that much about the condition, it should be easy to find a phone. You need to make sure it will work with your carrier as some phones will only work with certain carriers. If you do make a mistake and buy a phone that is meant to work with another carrier, you will have to find an unlock code which will allow the phone to be used with all carriers.
